Tamblyn Bounces
To Spring
Saturday
Night Live’s Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch also join Parker Posey in the
comedy from Ryan Shiraki.
Amber Tamblyn,
best known for her Emmy-nominated role as the lead on Joan of Arcadia, is
taking it to the beach. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Tamblyn will
join Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch and Parker Posey in the cast of Ryan Shiraki's Spring
Breakdown for Warner Bros. and Code Entertainment.
The
comedy, also penned by Shiraki, centers on three thritysomething friends, played
by Poehler, Dratch and Posey, who are tired with the doldrums of their daily
lives. In order to spice things up they decide to book a trip to an island that
also happens to be a popular destination for college students on Spring Break.
One of the friends also works for a senator whose daughter (Tamblyn) happens to
be Spring Breaking on the island and happens to be as unpopular as the three
women.
Following
her short-lived stint on Joan, Tamblyn made the move to the big screen in
Warner's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. From there, she went on
to star with Tilda Swinton in Stephanie Daley, which will be released
later this year, as will her horror sequel The Grudge 2, which, no
surprise, comes out this October. Tamblyn is repped by Endeavor.
