If you are planning on catching Amber Tamblyn in the recently released thriller The Ring, don’t be late!  “If anything, get there early,” she laughs.  “My part isn’t very big, but it’s literally the opening sequence of the movie.  “I’m in the first 15 minutes, then they refer to my character and show pictures of me throughout.”

 

Translation: Her character meets an untimely end early on via a cursed videotape that causes its watcher’s death.  Among the upsides of that is that Tamblyn got to be immortalized as a stiff by special-effects whiz Rick Baker (How the Grinch Stole Christmas; Men In Black).  “Because they show my dead body, they had to make a molding of my body.  When they brought it to the set, everyone was taking pictures of it and kissing it on the cheek.  It was very disturbing.” …

She also just completed a Dreamworks film called The Ring, which, with its extensive horror make-up, had her face covered in plaster for casting.  “I get hacked to pieces in it,” she says nonchalantly.  “Basically, they find parts of my body.” …
