Stepping

dad’s days on Twin Peaks, and more. By Jeff Jensen
Holding
A Grudge
I wanted to
do The
Grudge 2 [now playing] because Takashi Shimizu, who directed all the
Grudge
films, American and Japanese, was coming back. The only [fear] I had was it
was
a sequel to a remake. Now, there’s dangerous
waters!
Slayer Sisters
I did a
Buffy
the Vampire Slayer episode with Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2001. She’s a
spitfire, which I love. She’s good at knowing her vision. I’m more nervous;
there’s trepidation until the cameras roll.
Only In Japan
We shot
The
Grudge 2 in Tokyo, and I stayed after we wrapped. One night, my friend
and I
rode bikes around the geisha district during a lightning storm. The sky kept
lighting up while the geishas would come in and out of doorways. Crazy and
weird.
R.I.P
Joan
of Arcadia
I miss Joan
terribly. I get asked, “If there had been a third season, what would have
happened?” [Perhaps] Joan fighting the Devil in different human forms.
Wentworth Miller [the Devil in the series finale] was so sweet. I still have
his
number in my cell.
Soapy Start
I could
someday
be as big as Tom Cruise, and there will always be people who will come up
and
say, “I thought episode 553 of General Hospital was the greatest
piece
of film of all time.” I love that.
Twin
Peeks
Twin
Peaks
was something Daddy [Russ Tamblyn, who played Dr. Lawrence Jacoby] was part
of,
but I wasn’t allowed to watch. What he doesn’t know is that I had a Hello
Kitty compact, and I’d watch the show in the mirror while my parents did. I
had a crush on David Lynch. I wanted to invite him for a tea party. I
thought he
sounded like what my stuffed rabbit would if it could talk.
