Do the Fright
Thing
The apparition in 2004's The Grudge
managed
to scare plenty of moviegoers without providing much in the way of gore — or
motivation — but the sequel promises to delve deeper into the history of the
heavily mascaraed mystery woman who spooked Sarah Michelle Gellar in the
first
installment. ''The subtext of the ghost has to do with domestic violence,''
asserts Amber Tamblyn, who plays baby sis to Gellar's character, sent to
find
her sibling. ''It's about a woman who was killed and how she's going to make
everybody else feel her pain because nobody acknowledged what happened to
her.''
