Sundance, Brooklyn-Style
March 31, 2006 -- 'LITTLE Miss
Sunshine," a black comedy about a dysfunctional family starring Greg
Kinnear and Steve Carell, will open a series of Sundance Film Festival offerings
in May at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The invitation-only screening on
May 11 will open "Sundance Institute at BAM," a 10-day festival that
will include panel discussions and theater and musical performances as well as
15 feature-length films.
Tickets will go on sale April 10
for most films, including "Stephanie
Daley,"
an abortion drama with Tilda Swinton and Amber Tamblyn, and "Sherrybaby,"
starring Maggie Gyllenhaal as an ex-convict who attempts to raise a child.
